Welcome
to the The Little Tennessee River Greenway is one of more than a thousand such trails snaking their way across America turning old canals, abandoned railbeds and forgotten riverbanks into green recreational corridors. The Greenway represents a voluntary local strategy to preserve scenic, natural, historic, cultural and recreational resources and promotes increased public access to the Little Tennessee River through the creation of riverside parks and trails. Please take the time to stroll through our site and discover what the Greenway has to offer, how you can participate, and other information on this beautiful area of western North Carolina. Only one Discovery Walk left for 2008
The last Discovery Walk on the Greenway for 2008 will be on Friday, November 14th. We will meet at the Frog Quarters at 573 E. Main Street at 10 AM and proceed to a section of the trail for the Walk. In case of rain we will have some shortened program indoors. The subject for this Walk is The Natural History of the Little Tennessee River. Discovery Walks will continue again in March. |
